A Page from the Director

The warm weather is already here and school will be out for the summer before we know it! Why not take advantage of all the library has to offer? We continually strive to bring you new services that will both educate and entertain you. I am hooked on our new downloadable music service Freegal and never miss my opportunity to download 3 new songs each week. I am so excited that I get to keep these songs forever. If you are looking for a job or trying to brush up on your computer skills, check-out our events calendar for classes be offered at the library. Don't forget to read and talk about the The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, our One Book, One Orangeburg selection. We have many activities scheduled around this book selection and it is a great way to spark a discussion with a friend or neighbor.

Of course you will want to sign up for summer reading. This year we have programs for children, teen and adults. Teens and adults can register for summer reading on-line this year starting June 1st. While planning your summer, include reading as one of your family activities. The library bookmobile will also be visiting the YMCA during summer camps. We have many generous sponsors for summer reading this year and would like to thank The Dick Horne Foundation, Baker & Taylor (a library book vendor), the South Carolina State Library and the YMCA.

Our mission is to educate, inform and enrich the Library Community.

By the way I am reading the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and Pieces of Us by
Margie Gelbwasser.

Warm Regards,
