Arrests in Stolen Golf Carts

5/22/2012 - Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announces the arrest of one man and the detainment of two juveniles in the theft of three golf carts in the Laurel Hill Subdivision earlier this month.

Ravenell explain "We are able to announce these arrests because of the collaborative efforts of neighborhood residents and law enforcement. The residents set up surveillance cameras after several homes were robbed of golf carts and officers increased patrols. The surveillance cameras captured the images of those individuals stealing the golf carts and we were able to identify the suspects and make these arrests."

Ravenell concludes "Luner is being charged in the thefts of the golf carts as well as contributing to the delinquency of minors. Based on our investigation, Luner recruited the juveniles to steal the golf carts, that are valued at more than $12,000. Whether you do it yourself or recruit minors to help you in a criminal act, we will bring charges against you!"

Luner is charged with receiving stolen goods, two counts of grand larceny, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
