Our Purpose
| Grants Administration develops and prepares grant applications for funding to state and federal agencies for competitive funding and monitors and implements local government grant programs. A vast amount of funding received in the department comes from the South Carolina Department of Commerce through its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. This program is designed to provide assistance to units of general local government in improving economic opportunities and meeting community revitalization needs, particularly for persons of low to moderate income. Funding is also received through the Rural Development Office and the United States Department of Justice. |
