| The Bookmobile serves towns and communities throughout Orangeburg County. It also serves senior citizens at several locations in the county. Large Print Books:
The books have print twice the size found in most books, making them popular for anyone with vision problems.
This collection includes best sellers as well as classics and non-fiction titles.
Talking Books:
Various forms of media and players are available through the South Carolina State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
This service is free to all qualified users. Applications are available at any branch library and at the main library.
Magnifying Viewers:
Two of these viewers are available at the main library in Orangeburg. These magnify any print materals for better
viewing. Inquire at the Information Services desk about use of these machines.
BESTSELLERS CLUB
Join the Bestsellers Club and you will automatically be placed on the waiting list for any of the popular authors you
choose from the library's pre-selected list. You will be notified by postal mail, email, or by telephone when an item
is available for you to pick up. While we can't guarantee how near the top of the list you will be, it's one less thing
you'll have to remember to do.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

The Friends of the Orangeburg County Library support the library through fund-raising activities
such as the monthly book sale. They also help sponsor programs of interest to the community.
Applications to join the Friends group are available at the main library and any branch library.
Membership in the Friends group can be limited to financial support only, or can extend to include
involvement in activities and projects. Join the Friends & join the fun! |
FOR GROUPS
Tours and library instruction:Tours and programs on using the library may be requested for adults and children by calling to set up an appointment. Call (803) 533-5858 for adult groups or (803) 533-5858 for children's groups.
Meeting Room:
At the Orangeburg County Library there is a large meeting room available for non-profit community groups and meetings (food and beverages are not allowed in the meeting room). For information about guidelines and to make reservations, please call (803) 533-5856 or (803) 533-5857. Use of this room is restricted to the normal operating hours of the library.
